Corporate Relationships Specialist

FLSA Status: Exempt

Months Per Year: 12

Hours Per Week: 37.5

Salary Range: $59,000 - $61,000 DOE

Position Description

Seattle University has an exciting, dynamic opportunity for a Corporate Relationships Specialist to join our community. Under the direction of the Project Center Director, this position is responsible for outreach to companies, governmental organizations and non-profit organizations to enlist their support as sponsors of design projects in computer science, data science, software engineering and engineering disciplines.

Major responsibilities include project recruitment as well as support of contract management, marketing, events planning, and program management. Internal engagement with faculty, college leadership, support staff and students is also required.

Essential Job Functions

Project Recruitment/Business Development 50%
Follow-through on project recruitment stages from initial contact to development of concept and finalization of scope of work and contract on a subset of projects as assigned by the Director.  Research potential leads; participate in business development networking activities; collaborate with Project Center Director and faculty to create lead lists; develop relationships; develop project concepts collaboratively with sponsor engineers and SU faculty.

Support the Center’s project recruitment planning focused specifically on diversity and inclusion, including but not limited to participating in the development of strategic outreach plans to BIPOC-owned businesses for project sponsorship.

Contract Management and Sponsor Relations 15%
As directed by the Project Center Director, work collaboratively with sponsor engineers and SU faculty to identify and refine project scopes. Responsible for tracking, routing, and management of contractual materials affiliated with projects to include intellectual property agreements, sponsor fees, master agreements, and deliverables. Contract management will include execution of standard contracts with sponsors.

Events Planning 15%
Support the planning and execution of the fall workshop, joint sessions, interview sessions, and the annual Projects Day program.

Projects Day planning includes administrative support to students and guidance regarding final deliverables, printed materials, final presentations, and Projects Day conference. Work with administrative staff in events planning support of these functions.

Marketing Management 10%
Work with Project Center Director, support development and maximization of marketing opportunities for program involvement. Work collaboratively to ensure the focus of marketing materials  appeals to internal audience of students and faculty for program functions, administration and morale. Duties may include engaging alumni and potential sponsors to generate interest, attendance, and involvement in program events and ultimately projects. Duties may also include social media management.


Program Management 5%

Work closely with the Project Center Director to identify key areas of interest and needs for Project Center program. Create and administer all feedback and surveys for program for faculty, students, and sponsors.

Work with the Project Center Director, students, and department coordinators to address issues and facilitate interactions with the sponsors.

Under the direction of the Project Center Director, work with administrative staff on execution of administrative duties including student relations, budgets affiliated with projects and sponsor invoicing.

Marginal Job Functions 5%
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications             
All candidates must show a demonstrated commitment to diversity and the university’s mission, vision, and values.

Bachelor’s degree and two years of successful technical sales or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Proficiency in MS Office

Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work

Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in oral and written presentations with corporate and governmental managers and groups.

Background in program development including marketing, sales, event planning, and fundraising.

Strong ability to develop corporate relationships and work collaboratively within an academic setting.
