Position Description
Seattle University School of Law educates ethical

The Associate Director for Admission is a key member of the Office of Admission
team and supports the achievement of enrollment goals and objectives of the
School of Law.
The Associate Director for Admission reports to the
Assistant Dean for Admission. The Assistant Director supports the Office of
Admission in (1) advising prospective applicants, (2) reviewing application and
making admissions decisions recommendations, (3) attending regional and
national recruitment events, and (4) building and maintaining internal
enrollment systems throughout the annual recruitment cycle (e.g. waitlist
processes, communication plans, and prospective student events).
Job Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this position include a variety of tasks that
contribute to the Office of Admission and support the School of Law in its
strategic enrollment goals and engagement with prospective students.
- Counsel prospective students
throughout the application and admission processes.
- Supervise Admission Fellows,
current law student representatives, to ensure they receive proper
training for Admission Office administrative duties and prospective
student recruitment.
- Review JD applications and make
admissions decisions and recommendations in collaboration with the
Assistant Dean of Admission and other admissions staff.
- Assist with planning and
presentation of recruitment events for both prospective and admitted
students.
- Attend local, regional and
national recruitment events as needed. Extensive regional and national
travel is required during the fall months.
- Manage waitlist for Admission
Office throughout the admissions cycle, providing counseling and periodic
updates for waitlisted candidates.
- Serve as a primary liaison for
various JD pathway programs including the FLEX JD Program, 3+3 programs,
and other joint degree partnerships with internal and external academic
partners as part of the Hybrid Hubs initiative.
- Serve as a liaison between the JD
Admission department and other enrollment teams within the School of Law
including LLM, MLS, and SJD programs.
- Assist in coordinating summer and
fall orientation programs for new 1L students.
- Must be willing to work flexible
hours on occasion to be available and provide support to prospective
students during periodic evening and weekend events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required, with an understanding of the Seattle University mission, as well as an alignment with the university’s mission, vision, and values and four years of experience in an academic environment. Advanced degrees (JD, Master’s, or Doctorate) preferred.
- Experience planning, promoting, and executing recruitment events.
- Experience leading and supervising student employees.
- Strong organizational, communication, writing, decision-making and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with large and diverse internal and external audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with attention to details, timelines, the context for decisions, and policy and public relations implications.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends, and to travel extensively, especially during the fall months.
- Individual initiative and demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Culturally competent approach to leadership with a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- High level of diplomacy and confidentiality when working with prospective students and student records.
- Experience utilizing CRM systems to track relationships and processes. Familiarity and facility with database use, maintenance, performing queries, generating reports, etc.

Compensation at a Glance:
Salary Range: $73,000 - $80,000
Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents
its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the
time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be
determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected
candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity
considerations, and available market information, and not based on a
candidate’s gender or any other protected status.

Hybrid Eligible*
This
position may be eligible for a hybrid schedule after successful completion of
an introductory work period of 3-6 months. This may mean that a hybrid eligible
role will begin on-campus initially and then will transition to hybrid format
following onboarding and training. Flexible work plans are subject to periodic
review and may be changed or terminated at any time for any reason at the
university’s discretion.
