Position Description
At Seattle University, the Student Success Division implemented Slate for Student Success in 2023, laying the foundation for a variety of exciting and innovative plans to improve the student experience. The Assistant Director, Slate for Student Success would assist the Senior Associate Director, Slate for Student Success in leading the ongoing development of Slate for the purpose of increasing retention at Seattle University. This role would be responsible for leading the communications strategy and delivering operations oversight, ensuring that the campus can best utilize the powerful communication tools delivered through Slate. This role will also support the development of new tools and business processes designed in Slate for Student Success, documenting and training users along the way. The Assistant Director, Slate for Student Success will serve as the point person for over 200+ campus-wide Slate users and develop ongoing training plans to continue to increase user skillsets for exponential growth and optimization of the Slate for Student Success platform.
Train approved deliver users on communications optimization including how to utilize liquid markup, schedule ongoing mailings, create drip campaigns, incorporating best practices and brand standards.
Develop training materials and sessions for user skill development in areas including Events, Appointments, Query building, Communications, and Forms.
Support the Senior Associate Director, Slate for Student Success in tackling the annual Slate for Student Success Roadmap, a project roadmap for new initiatives in Slate for Student Success managed by the Senior Associate Director and approved by the VP for Student Success.
Assist the Senior Associate Director, Slate for Student Success in managing project requests for building new business processes, workflows, forms, portals, and other functions in Slate.
Take lead on assigned roadmap projects, working directly with stakeholders to conduct to assess the needs, develop plans for Slate designed solutions, and facilitate implementation and training for users on these new Slate forms, processes, workflows, portals, etc.
Work directly with the Senior Associate Director, Slate for Student Success to make back-end system changes, when necessary, build new fields, prompts, datasets, entities, custom tabs, populations, portals, etc.
Qualifications
Slate Captain experience, or experience working in Slate as a “super user” building queries, forms, communications, templates and portals in a leadership role.

Compensation at a Glance
Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000
Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents
its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the
time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be
determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected
candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity
considerations, and available market information, and not based on a
candidate’s gender or any other protected status.

Hybrid Eligible
This
position may be eligible for a hybrid schedule after successful completion of
an introductory work period of 3-6 months. This may mean that a hybrid eligible
role will begin on-campus initially and then will transition to hybrid format
following onboarding and training. Flexible work plans are subject to periodic
review and may be changed or terminated at any time for any reason at the
university’s discretion.
