Position Description
Admissions and Community Engagement (20%):
- Serve as a primary liaison to University Admissions, regularly providing updates and presentations to University Admissions staff and leadership and partnering to plan and execute admissions strategies to recruit and yield new CSE undergraduate students.
- Coordinate college participation at signature admissions events such as Fall Preview Day, Admitted Student Day, and Transfer Preview Day and admissions initiatives like Admitted Student Writing Campaign ..
- Provide accurate, consistent, and friendly customer service in outreach to high schools, community colleges, and other organizations to interface with and promote CSE to prospective students through information sessions, event presence, and other programs.
- Design and lead additional efforts to augment the recruitment and admissions yield strategies for CSE, including collaboration with University Marketing Communications.
- Cultivate relationships with community partners and alumni to enhance undergraduate opportunities, including summer STEM opportunities.
- Representing the college or department in community events and initiatives.
Student Affairs and Success (30%):
- Collaborate across the college and university to enhance the student experience and promote student success.
- Oversee the coordination of the CSE quarterly Welcome events for new students in collaboration with the Orientation Office.
- Act as primary college contact for university-wide retention efforts and collaborate with the Office of Student Persistence.
- Partner with campus departments to increase participation in extra-curricular opportunities and services such as Education Abroad, Career Engagement Office, Center for Community Engagement.
- Collaborate with college departments to build a portal of information for all CSE undergraduate students around academic tutoring, industry events and opportunities to build community within departments and the college.
- Oversee undergraduate academic advising operations for the college including participation in University Advising Leadership Group to implement university-wide advising initiatives, policies, and procedures while also being a resource to college advisors when students’ situations are warranted.
- Coordinate with college faculty and staff to run CSE student success programming such as Dean’s Fellows and LEAP.
- Coordinate the CSE scholarship application processes including Sperry Goodman and Bannan Scholarships.
- Liaison with SFS to verify applicant financial availability and to manage college scholarships found in Scholarship Universe.
- Addressing student concerns and managing student-related issues effectively, including withdraw for medical reasons and student leaves of absence policies and procedures.
- Represent the college on the Care Team to identify and respond to student welfare concerns.
Academic Affairs Support (35%):
- Lead the production of CSE undergraduate course schedule including CSE UCOR courses, identify and finalize course offerings, upload courses in relevant information systems, and coordinate with the 8 academic departments, UCOR, and the Office of the Registrar on course publishing and classroom assignments.
- Monitor course enrollments of all CSE undergraduate courses and CSE UCOR course offerings to identify patterns, make determinations, and provide recommendations on course offerings, course capacity and caps.
- Review, on behalf of the dean, courses with low enrollment.
- Participate in CSE Curriculum Committee to review submissions, including management of Curriculog information system.
- Manage the quarterly mismatch process for departments within the college.
- Prepare grade distribution report at the end of each term for all CSE undergraduate and graduate courses.
- Provide grade distribution report to CSE Dean and Associate Deans, and support faculty in compiling relevant grade distribution information for tenure reports and other faculty review procedures.
- Coordinate quarterly academic standing processes of all CSE students including Dean’s List recognition and those below the minimum required GPA, making determinations on academic warning, academic probation, and academic suspensions.
- The Assistant Dean will meet with students on academic suspension and will make determinations on academic reinstatement.
- Represent CSE as Dean’s Designee to the Office of the Registrar on enforcement of academic policies and procedures, including the approval of academic eforms such as Petitions for Exceptions to Policy,
- Transfer Verification Request, and tracking of degree completion.
- Maintain effective working relationship with all CSE department chairs and other college Associate Deans for matters pertaining to undergraduate curriculum and undergraduate student issues.
- Supporting academic programs and curriculum development initiatives.
Supervision and Leadership (10%)
- Supervise a staff of 1-2 employees.
- Hire, train, and provide annual reviews of employees, as needed.
Other Duties as Assigned (5%)
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, academic administration, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, particularly in student services, academic operations, or program coordination.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with academic departments and student support services.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience working with diverse student populations and a commitment to inclusive excellence.
- Supervisory experience and team leadership skills.
- Proficiency with student information systems and other academic administrative tools (e.g., course scheduling, curriculum management systems).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate in higher education administration, organizational leadership, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in academic administration, particularly in areas of student success, advising, or undergraduate operations.
- Familiarity with Seattle University policies, systems (e.g., Curriculog, Scholarship Universe), and Jesuit educational values.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing student success initiatives that positively impact retention and graduation rates.
- Experience with scholarship administration, academic standing processes, and faculty collaboration.
- Proven ability to represent a college or department at university-wide events and committees.
- Experience coordinating cross-departmental teams and initiatives.
- Knowledge of best practices in undergraduate recruitment, retention, and advising.

Compensation at a Glance
Salary Range: $80,000 - $86,000
Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents
its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the
time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be
determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected
candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity
considerations, and available market information, and not based on a
candidate’s gender or any other protected status.
